Each file uploaded or synced from a data room counts as one document.

We now offer three plans, all priced per document. Essentials starts at 2,500 documents a year and suits teams running a steady flow of mid-sized deals. Professional starts at 10,000 documents a year for teams with a busy, recurring deal pipeline. Enterprise starts at 50,000 documents a year for firms rolling Emma out across practice groups. No. Emma Legal uses a transparent, document-based pricing model rather than token-based pricing. Every plan includes unlimited tokens per document, so your team can ask as many questions as needed, run and rerun checks, review updated document versions, and explore findings in greater depth without worrying about additional token charges.

Unlike token-based pricing, where costs depend on how much AI you use and can be difficult to predict in advance, Emma Legal gives you greater certainty and control over your budget. You know what you're paying for, regardless of how thoroughly your team reviews a document or how many questions arise during the transaction.

We believe pricing should support thorough legal due diligence, not make lawyers think twice about using the tools available to them.

Deals don't always arrive on schedule, and that's fine. If you go over your annual volume, additional documents are invoiced at your plan's per-document rate. If you consistently need more, we'll suggest moving to the next plan so you benefit from better pricing.

Your price is based on your expected annual document volume and any add-ons, such as data residency. The higher your volume, the lower your price per document. Your contact at Emma will put together a proposal that fits how your team actually works.

Nothing during your current term. Your existing fees and conditions remain in place until the end of your current contract period. Ahead of renewal, we'll reach out at least 30 days in advance to walk you through the plan that best matches your usage, so there are no surprises.

Your proposal stays valid until the expiry date stated on it. After that, the new pricing structure applies. If you need a little more time to decide, just reach out to your contact at Emma.

Data residency is a new option that lets you choose whether your data is stored in the EU or the US, helping you meet client, regulatory or internal requirements. It's available on every plan as a 20% add-on to your subscription.
